“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Luke 11:9
Heavenly Father, You are our Eternal Rock, and we come in the confidence of Your Son, Jesus, asking that You would hear the prayers of many in the war-torn nation of Lebanon and especially in the city of Beirut. Be with Karim today as he leads his teams of intercessors and worshippers. Open their eyes to see You at work in the lives of those around them. Your word speaks of Your kindness to those who are in need in Luke 11:9: “So I say to you: Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Pour out Your grace and mercy among the people today, and open their eyes to see the redemption and hope available through our Savior. Go ahead of Karim and his team, preparing the way with dreams and visions, ministering to every hurting soul and desperate cry. May this team be the answered prayer of many today. In Jesus’ name, Amen. |

Beirut, having been inhabited for over 5,000 years, is one of the oldest cities in the world and the capital of Lebanon. Until a brutal civil war broke out in the ‘70s, Beirut was the intellectual capital of the Arab world. After decades of reconstructing the nation and capital, the city regained its status as “the Paris of the East”.
Despite such progress, an influx of 1.5 million Syrian refugees over the past ten years has put tremendous strain on the economy. This coupled with COVID-19, the devastating “Beirut blast” on August 4th of 2020, a severe food crisis, gasoline shortages, and a worthless Lebanese pound is leading many to identify the nation as a failed state.
As things go from bad to worse in Beirut, the opportunity has never been greater for the church to rise up and let their light shine before others.
