Great Shepherd, we lift up Saqib from northern Nigeria, a nomad who travels with his family and animals across open land and long roads. You saw him when a hungry stranger crossed his path and stayed with them for the night. Saqib’s hospitality opened his heart to this “stranger’s” message of the Good News.
Thank You for guiding this family and watching over every step of their journey. We know that “The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need.” (Psalm 23:1) and we pray for Your continued guidance and protection over Saqib’s family today. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

I walk the streets of Xining, the capital of Qinghai, knowing this city has always been a bridge. Long ago, when the Silk Road first opened, traders passed through here carrying goods and ideas between East and West. Today, the Qinghai-Tibet railway begins here, connecting us once again to distant lands. Xining is high on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, a place where cultures meet—Han Chinese, Hui Muslims, Tibetans, and many other minorities, each with their own languages, traditions, and stories.
Living here as a follower of Jesus, I see both the beauty and the brokenness. This city reflects China’s great diversity, yet many hearts remain far from knowing the One who created them. Even as more than 100 million in our nation have turned to Christ in recent decades, here in Qinghai, the soil often feels hard. Brothers and sisters face pressure, and the Uyghur and Tibetan peoples especially endure deep trials.
Still, I believe God has written another story for Xining. Just as this city once linked nations through trade, I pray it will now become a gateway for the Good News to flow into Tibet and beyond. Even under the watchful eyes of authorities and the shadow of Xi Jinping’s “One Belt, One Road” ambitions, I cling to the greater vision: that China itself would bow before King Jesus. I long for the day when this land, once marked by wandering and striving, will be washed in the blood of the Lamb and known as a place of His glory.
Pray for bold disciples:
