“Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.” Psalm 95:6
Merciful God, we lift Maryam and Noor and their families to You. Earlier this year, these two precious widows lost their husbands, as they were among the six men who were martyred for their faith. We ask that the Jesus Followers in and around the cities of Karaj, Shiraz, and Kermanshah, Iran, comfort them. As she gathers today with the other five widows and their children, be their hope. For all the questions she and the others have, help them to turn their sorrow into worship according to Psalm 95:6: “Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.” We worship you, Eternal Lord and our hearts grieve with them. May they find grace and love only available from You. In Jesus’ name, Amen. |

Karaj is the capital city of the Alborz province in north-central Iran. Karaj is a major producer of steel, automobiles, machinery, and textiles.
Shiraz is the capital city of the Fars province in southwestern Iran. Famous for its wine, it is both a historic site and an attractive modern city, with gardens, shrines, and mosques.
The inhabitants are mainly Kurds of many different tribes, most of whom settled in the city after World War II. Though Sunni Kurds make up 10% of Iran’s population, they cannot construct Sunni mosques within many urban areas and are often mistreated by authorities.
