“Answer me when I call to you, my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; have mercy on me and hear my prayer.” Psalm 4:1
Eternal Father, we thank You for the House of Prayer that is lifting up Jesus in Baku, Azerbaijan, and for the Safe House that provides shelter for those whose lives have been attacked because of their allegiance to You. Today, we pray for Aisha, the wife and widow of one of our leaders who was martyred for his faith. We pray for her children who, without Your divine intervention, will continue in sorrow and pain. They are calling out to You the words of Psalm 4:1: “Answer me when I call to you, my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; have mercy on me and hear my prayer.” You are the great Rescuer and Comforter. Come and minister to Aisha and her children today. In Jesus’ name, Amen. |

Old meets new in the city of Baku, Azerbaijan, the nation’s capital.
From the cobblestone streets of Old City the Flame Towers, a trio of dazzling skyscrapers constructed to appear like a flame in the sky, soar above the weathered storefronts.
As governmental persecution has sought to extinguish the fire of the underground church in the capital, may the “pillars of fire” symbolize the burning hearts for Jesus that will rise up and be the defining characteristic of Baku and the people of Azerbaijan.
