Pray for 50 Discipleship-driven multiplying house churches in each of the 9 people groups.
“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” Matthew 6:5-6
Today, learn to pray in secret. What does that mean? Does it mean we cannot pray with others? Not at all. What Jesus was saying in Matthew 6:5-6 was for us to pray focusing on God alone, with all of our motivations for praying completely focused on Him and His kingdom. It is all about our heart attitude and our posture in prayer. It is about being humble before God. It is about knowing that God is the only one who answers prayer. It is about knowing Him. Having a special place to pray, when possible, is still a good idea. Find a place that can be set apart in your mind as the place you meet Him. Over time, the place will begin to take on the air of His presence. Cultivating the secret place and your relationship with Him will deepen your delight in Him. Just as in human relationships, communication is the glue, so with God our time in prayer (also communication) cements our sense of His presence and fine tunes our ear to hear His voice.
Disciple’s Prayer:
“Father, it’s hard to be alone sometimes. It is hard to be still and silent. Please quiet my heart and mind today and let me experience the joy of waiting on you. Fill this empty space around me with your love and presence.”
Unreached of the Day Prayer:
“Father, thank You for the Biao-Jiao Mien peoples of China. Send forth and raise up more than enough laborers in these white, ripe harvest fields. As these laborers spend time in Your presence, download to them Your divine strategies for bringing the good news to these Biao-Jiao Mien. Thank You that You have already put eternity in their hearts! Cause them to hunger and thirst after You today! Father, do what you always do! Have Your way among them today. In Jesus name I pray, Amen!”
Use these resources to help pray specifically each day.
