“Repent and be baptized…And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2:38
God of Mercy, we lift up Ivanov and his team of young Chechen Jesus Followers serving near Moscow, Russia. As they walk the streets and neighborhoods today, fill them with supernatural discernment to perceive who is ready to receive Your goodness and be filled with Your forgiveness. Be with them amidst any opposition and grant them courage to share the message of hope. Lead them with Your gifts of wisdom and give them empathy to love those around them. According to Acts 2:38, “Repent and be baptized…And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” As they invite others to turn to You, we ask that many young men receive this gift and know they are not forgotten. Let them see that they belong in Your family. May baptism be their moment of change and Your presence be their strength. Fill Ivanov and his team with joy and courage, and let their lives bring hope to others. May this work spread from Moscow and throughout Southern Russia. In Jesus’ Name, Amen. |

Russia is a land of extremes. The world’s largest country hosts many environments, landforms, and natural resources. However, a sprawling habitat has not translated into an easy life for most of the country’s people. Much of Russia’s history has been a grim tale of the wealthy and powerful few ruling over a great mass of the poor and powerless.
Although the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 brought profound political and economic changes, Russians have had to endure a weak economy, high inflation, and fury of social ills for much of the postcommunist era. Today, Russia and its tyrannical leader, Vladamir Putin, are involved in several proxy wars and recently have invaded Ukraine despite significant global opposition. The Church must contend for Putin to be brought to his knees before the King of Kings.
This is the hour of deliverance for God’s children to be set free from communistic ideology through the Truth of the Gospel. Moscow, the capital of Russia, is the nation’s largest city located in the far western part of the country. Moscow has been the country’s political, industrial, cultural, scientific, and educational capital since it was first mentioned in historical documents centuries ago.
