Acts 13:9, “Then Saul, who was also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit…”
Giver of Gifts, You are generous to those who seek You. You give insight and revelation at just the right time, and You never hold back what is good. Today, we lift up Razan and her team in Amman, Jordan, as they serve refugees from Gaza. Speak to Razan and grant her team discernment to share the Good News with the leaders You bring across her path. According to Acts 13:9, “Then Saul, who was also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit…” You fill and refill Your people with the power of Your Spirit. Thank You. We ask You to fill young women to rise with courage and fathers to find new hope through Your power. Anoint Razan to see what You are doing, and send her team out with joy. Let their work multiply into a movement. In Jesus’ Name, Amen. |

Jordan is a rocky desert country in Southwest Asia. The nation is a young state that occupies an ancient land that bears the traces of many civilizations. Separated from ancient Palestine by the Jordan River, the region played a prominent role in biblical history. The ancient biblical kingdoms of Moab, Gilead, and Edom lie within their borders. It is among the most politically liberal countries in the Arab world, although it shares in the region’s troubles.
The overwhelming majority of the people are Arabs. Amman, the capital, is Jordan’s chief commercial, financial, and international trade center. The city is built on rolling hills at the eastern boundary of the .Ajlun Mountains. Amman, the “royal city” of the Ammonites, was probably the acropolis atop the plateau that King David’s general Joab took.
The Ammonite city was reduced under King David’s lordship and rebuilt over centuries into today’s contemporary city. Yet, despite being a harbor of peace in the Middle East, Jordan is a land living in spiritual darkness. Therefore, a new conquering is needed, one in which the Son of David will illuminate the nation of Jordan with the true light of God.
