During the month of August we will offer prayers for those asking God to send additional workers into the fields where they serve.
“Faithful God, today we lift up Christopher, who is asking You for a Team Leader in Paris, France. Provide a team leader who creates trust and gives clear direction for ministry among North Africans. Help him care for each person while keeping the team focused on the work You have given him. As Christopher prays and watches for Your answer, guide him by Your Spirit. Make Christopher sensitive to the words of others as they open their hearts and homes to him. Let kindness prepare the way for truth.
According to John 16:7, “Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I don’t go away, the Counselor won’t come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.” Help them trust the wisdom of Jesus in seasons of change. Let the Counselor’s presence become more real than the loss or uncertainty they feel. Let Scripture shape what Christopher expects from You. Replace anxiety about finding the right person with confidence in Your attentive care. Bring Christopher a man who can give the Paris team direction without losing sight of the people carrying the work. Let this person know the joy of being useful in Your hands without carrying a burden You never gave. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Today: DAKAR, Senegal
I live in Dakar, the westernmost city of Africa, where the ocean meets the edge of the continent. For centuries, our land has been called the “Gateway to Africa,” a crossroads where traders, travelers, and cultures have converged. The people of Senegal are as diverse as its landscapes, yet nearly two-fifths of us are Wolof — a proud people known for our deep traditions, social order, and storytelling through our griots, the keepers of history.
Dakar is alive — full of rhythm, art, and movement. Ships come and go through one of the busiest harbors in West Africa, carrying goods and people from distant lands. The call to prayer rings daily across the city, as Islam shapes nearly every aspect of life. Yet even here, among mosques and markets, I see hearts longing for peace and meaning. Many have never heard the name of Jesus spoken with love, but I believe the Gospel is coming to shore in this harbor city.
Though the Church in Senegal is small, its faith is strong. Believers gather quietly, praying for their neighbors and serving their communities with humility. I believe Dakar will one day live up to its name — not just as a gateway for trade, but as a gateway for the Gospel, sending the light of Christ throughout West Africa and beyond.
