Prayer Fuel

During the month of August we will offer prayers for those asking God to send additional workers into the fields where they serve.  

“Father in Heaven, today we lift up Julia, who is asking You for a female evangelist trainer in Dubai, UAE. Raise up an evangelist who will train others to share about Jesus with warmth and clarity. Open natural opportunities for the Gospel, and help those being trained to honor each listener as a person You love. As Julia prays and watches for Your answer, guide her by Your Spirit. Keep Julia’s hope rooted in Your faithfulness rather than quick results. Let prayer shape the search before any plans take shape.

According to John 7:39, “But he said this about the Spirit, which those believing in him were to receive. For the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus wasn’t yet glorified.” Let those who believe receive the Holy Spirit as Jesus promised. Make the reality of His risen life evident in their words and relationships. Show Your kindness to Julia through an answer rooted in the life of Dubai. May it fit the place and the people rather than feeling imported or forced. Bring Julia a woman who can speak openly about Jesus while treating every listener with dignity and genuine interest. May Julia look back on this season and recognize how gently You brought the right person near. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

110 City General Focus for August is West and Central Africa

Today: BAMAKO, Mali

I live in Bamako, the capital of Mali, a land that stretches wide under the desert sun. Our country is vast — dry and flat — yet the Niger River winds through it like a lifeline, bringing water, color, and life to everything it touches. Most of our people live along this river, depending on it for farming, fishing, and cattle herding. In a land where the soil often cracks and the rains are uncertain, water means hope.

Mali is growing quickly, and so is Bamako. Every day, families from small villages arrive here, searching for work, education, or simply survival. The markets overflow with sound — traders shouting prices, children laughing, the rhythm of drums and conversation. There is beauty here — in our artisans, in our culture, in our strength — but also brokenness. Poverty, instability, and growing Islamic extremism have left deep scars on our land.

And yet, I see God at work. Amid hardship, people are thirsty — not just for clean water, but for living water. The Church in Mali is small but steadfast, reaching out in love, praying for peace, and sharing the Gospel with courage. As Bamako becomes a gathering place for the nation, I believe it can also become a well of salvation — where many will come to drink from the truth of Jesus, the one source that never runs dry.

Pray for peace and protection over Mali as radical groups spread instability across the region. (Psalm 46:9)
