During the month of August we will offer prayers for those asking God to send additional workers into the fields where they serve.
“Lord God, today we lift up Victoria, who is asking You for a women’s prayer leader in Damascus/Homs, Syria. Raise up a pioneering leader who can see where the Gospel has not yet taken root. Give her grace to build with local believers and to serve without controlling what You begin. As Victoria prays and watches for Your answer, guide her by Your Spirit. As the team comes together and they begin to prayer walk the cities, open their spiritual eyes to see where You are moving.
According to John 14:17, “. . .the Spirit of truth, whom the world can’t receive, for it doesn’t see him and doesn’t know him. You know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.” Let the Spirit of truth live within them and guide their understanding. Where the surrounding world cannot recognize His work, give them quiet assurance of His presence. Breathe this truth into the streets and homes of Damascus/Homs. Let it take on flesh in an ordinary relationship marked by grace. Raise up a woman to partner with Victoria who can enter new places humbly and build alongside local believers rather than over them. May this friendship bear lasting fruit and give others courage to follow Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Today: IBADAN, Nigeria
I live in Ibadan, a sprawling city set on seven hills in southwestern Nigeria. Our nation is vast and diverse — from the arid north to the humid forests of the south — and our people reflect that same richness. Over 250 ethnic groups and hundreds of languages make Nigeria a mosaic of cultures and colors. Yet, despite our diversity, we share the same struggles — poverty, corruption, and the longing for peace.
Here in the south, life is busy and full of opportunity. Factories hum, markets overflow, and industries drive the economy. But beyond the city’s activity, many families still live one day at a time, hoping to make enough to survive. In the north, my brothers and sisters in Christ face constant threat from Boko Haram and other extremist groups. Entire villages have been burned, churches destroyed, and countless lives lost. Yet even there, the Church is alive — praying, forgiving, and shining the love of Christ in the face of violence.
Though Nigeria is Africa’s most populous and wealthiest nation, over half our people live below the poverty line, and millions of children suffer from hunger. But I believe this is our moment — a time for the Nigerian Church to rise. Through words, works, and wonders, we are called to bring hope where systems have failed and to proclaim the name of Jesus across every tribe, language, and city. Ibadan may be one city among many, but I believe from these hills, living water will flow across the nation, healing the land and its people.
Prayer for Today:
Father, we come before You today, lifting up our sister Mariam in Islamabad, Pakistan. She carries the burden of discipling mothers and young women into Your Kingdom. We ask You to draw near to her. In moments when she feels alone or unseen, remind her that You are the God who sees.
Your Word says in Isaiah 41:10, “Fear not, for I am with you,” and assures us of Your strength. May Mariam find solace in these words. Strengthen her heart with quiet courage that stands firm against fear. Let those around her be marked by kindness that serves as a witness to Christ’s love. We also pray for the believers throughout Pakistan. Grant wisdom to those leading Your Church there. And may Your presence be a constant source of comfort and guidance for them all. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Pray for government leaders to pursue justice, wisdom, and integrity amid corruption and instability. (Proverbs 11:14)
