Prayer Fuel

Thank you for joining us throughout August as we prayed for those who are asking God for additional workers for the harvest in the world’s major cities.  a Good Shepherd, today we lift up Matthew, who is asking You for an additional research coordinator among the Kurds in München (Munich), Germany. Provide someone who can trace how disciples and groups are multiplying across generations. Give him accuracy without reducing people to numbers, and let what he learns guide better care and prayer. As Matthew prays and watches for Your answer, guide him by Your Spirit. Prepare Matthew to receive this person as a gift, not a project. Build a friendship where faith can be seen in ordinary life.

According to Acts 2:18, “Yes, and on my servants and on my handmaidens in those days, I will pour out my Spirit, and they will prophesy.” Pour out Your Spirit on servants who are ready to obey. Give them words from You that strengthen the church and make Jesus known. Let the reality behind this verse touch the Kurds in München (Munich). Begin with one willing heart, and allow the Good News to travel through trusted relationships. Provide Matthew with a man who records generational growth accurately while remembering that every line on the map represents people to be loved and strengthened. Keep this relationship honest and rooted in love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

110 City General Focus for August is West and Central Africa

Today: BAMAKO, Mali

I live in Bamako, the capital of Mali, a land that stretches wide under the desert sun. Our country is vast — dry and flat — yet the Niger River winds through it like a lifeline, bringing water, color, and life to everything it touches. Most of our people live along this river, depending on it for farming, fishing, and cattle herding. In a land where the soil often cracks and the rains are uncertain, water means hope.

Mali is growing quickly, and so is Bamako. Every day, families from small villages arrive here, searching for work, education, or simply survival. The markets overflow with sound — traders shouting prices, children laughing, the rhythm of drums and conversation. There is beauty here — in our artisans, in our culture, in our strength — but also brokenness. Poverty, instability, and growing Islamic extremism have left deep scars on our land.

And yet, I see God at work. Amid hardship, people are thirsty — not just for clean water, but for living water. The Church in Mali is small but steadfast, reaching out in love, praying for peace, and sharing the Gospel with courage. As Bamako becomes a gathering place for the nation, I believe it can also become a well of salvation — where many will come to drink from the truth of Jesus, the one source that never runs dry.

Pray for farmers, herders, and families struggling through drought to experience God’s provision and compassion. (Psalm 65:9–10)
