Prayer for Movement Team:

Beginning tomorrow and for the next three weeks, we will be lifting up Hebrews 13:3 prayer requests from suffering saints: “Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.” We will be interceding on behalf of new believers that we have helped pray into the Kingdom since January and have found salvation amid the devastation of war and famine, or who now endure persecution for the sake of Jesus’ Name.

Eternal Father, we call upon Your mercy today for the city of Mogadishu, Somalia. Minister through Sumayyah and her teams as You continue to grow and multiply a women’s movement in that nation. According to Acts 2:17, “pour out [Your] Spirit on all people so that everyone can find the hope and peace that has escaped them for generations.

Raise up worshippers who will host Your presence and open the way for more to know and follow You forever; in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Learn more about Mogadishu, Somalia

Mogadishu, capital city and a major port of Somalia, is the largest metropolitan area in Somalia located just north of the Equator on the Indian Ocean. 40 years of civil war and clan skirmishes have wreaked havoc on the nation and further weakened tribal relationships, keeping the people of Somalia divided.

For decades, Mogadishu has been a refuge for Islamic militants who target Jesus followers in Somalia and surrounding nations.

Despite their claim to having a central government, most identify Somalia as a failed state. In the face of great challenges such as these, the Somali church is growing and sharing their faith with boldness to their fellow countrymen.
