Prayer Fuel

During the month of August we will offer prayers for those asking God to send additional workers into the fields where they serve.  

“Faithful God, today we lift up Adam, who is asking You for an Elder in Muscat, Oman. Provide a mature elder whose character gives others confidence. Let his guidance be steady and gracious, especially when the church faces difficult choices. As Adam prays and watches for Your answer, guide him by Your Spirit. Let Adam move at the pace of trust, neither rushing ahead nor holding back from a clear invitation to follow Jesus.

According to Luke 11:13, “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?” You are a good Father who gives the Holy Spirit to those who ask. Teach them to receive Your gift with trust rather than striving to prove themselves. Hold Adam steady in this promise. Even before the answer is visible, deepen the assurance that no prayer offered in faith is overlooked. Lead Adam to a man whose tested character will bring calm judgment and compassionate care to the believers in Muscat. May those who encounter this new leader see the character of Jesus and feel invited closer to Him. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Today: OUAGADOUGOU, Burkina Faso

I live in Burkina Faso, the “Land of Incorruptible People.” My nation is full of resilience — farmers tilling the dry soil, families tending livestock, and children laughing under the wide West African sky. Yet life here is not easy. Most of us live off the land, and when the rains fail, hunger follows. Many have left their villages in search of work or safety, some crossing borders into neighboring countries.

But today, our greatest struggle is not the drought — it is fear. Islamist groups have spread across the north and east, bringing terror and control. In many places, the government’s reach is weak, and Islamic law is enforced by those who hold power through violence. Churches have been burned, pastors kidnapped, and believers forced to flee. Even so, the Church remains, meeting quietly, praying earnestly, and holding fast to the hope we have in Jesus.

When the military seized power in 2022, many hoped for peace, but instability still hangs heavy in the air. Yet I believe God is not finished with Burkina Faso. In the ashes of fear, He is raising faith. In the silence of the desert, His Spirit is whispering hope. I pray that our land — once known for integrity — will again be known for righteousness, as our people turn to the Prince of Peace who cannot be overthrown.

Now is the time to stand for Burkina Faso and pray for the church in the country to stand firm and cling fast to the imperishable, undefiled, and unfading inheritance waiting for the “Incorruptible ones” in heaven. Ouagadougou, pronounced wa-ga-du-gu, is the capital and largest town of Burkina Faso.

Pray for displaced families to find safety, provision, and the comfort of Christ’s presence. (Isaiah 58:10–11)
