King Jesus, Your Word says in Philippians 2:3 to do “nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself.” You did not grasp at status but stooped to wash feet and carry a cross, and You call Your people to that same lowly love.
Today we lift up the believers across Southeast Asia and the Pacific. In lands of many faiths and real pressure, may they pursue humility and a love that puts others first. Where they are tempted to answer scorn with scorn, may they answer with kindness. Give quiet courage to those who follow Jesus far from any large church, and let their gentleness be a witness their neighbors cannot ignore.Strengthen the pastors and families who serve without recognition. May homes open to strangers, and may small fellowships grow in patience and grace. Draw many who are watching to the Savior whose humility opened heaven.Father, teach us to count others better than ourselves. We look forward to the day when believers from every island and nation of these lands stand together before Jesus, made one in His humble, self-giving love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
110 City General Focus for September is East Africa
Today: KHARTOUM, Sudan
I live in Khartoum, where the Blue and White Nile meet — a city that has long stood at the heart of Sudan. Once the largest country in Africa, Sudan was divided in 2011 after years of civil war between the north and south. The split was meant to bring peace, but our nation still wrestles with deep wounds, religious tension, and political instability.
Here in Khartoum, the rhythm of life is shaped by trade and struggle. The streets are filled with merchants, students, and families trying to rebuild their lives amid uncertainty. Many still long for peace, yet our government’s efforts to establish an Islamic state have left little room for those who follow Jesus.
But even in the midst of pressure and persecution, I see hope taking root. Quiet gatherings of believers meet to pray, to worship, and to share the Word. The Church here is small, but its faith is fierce. Sudan is a land of hundreds of unreached people groups, and Khartoum — this bustling city on the Nile — is becoming a seedbed for God’s Kingdom, where His Word is quietly spreading through relationships, courage, and love.

People Groups Focus:
“10 Days is a tangible step of obedience toward the answer to Jesus’ prayer in John 17:21: “Let them be one as We [the Father and the Son] are one.” This is about seeing Jesus receive the answer to His dying wish, for the John 17 unity of His followers. “Jesus gets what He prays for!”
10 Days is a call to stop and rest in the presence of God. It includes worship, prayer, fasting, and fellowship among believers with a focus on repentance, humility, praying for God’s promises, and mourning for our sins and the state of our world.
It’s a call to take a break from what’s normal on earth so we can enter into what’s normal in heaven. Revelation chapters 4-5 describe the kind of worship that’s normal in heaven. 10 Days is a call to take vacation time from what’s normal to us, to fast from ordinary life and daily distractions in order to see what’s normal in heaven happen here on earth.
It’s rooted in the 10 “Days of Awe” between the biblical Feasts of Trumpets and the Day of Atonement. These feasts prophetically foreshadow the second coming. Therefore, 10 Days is also a time of longing for the return of Jesus Christ. “
