Merciful Lord, we pray for “Karim” today and the multiple churches that he oversees near Kano, Nigeria. You have given great wisdom and authority to this young man, and we thank You that You are using him to raise up the next generation of evangelists and church planters for the northern parts of Nigeria.
In John 5:22–23, You have declared that all judgment has been entrusted to Your Son Jesus. And since we know that all authority has come from Jesus to His disciples, we ask that You would give sound judgment, wisdom, knowledge, and gifts of great faith to “Karim.” May You use him to generate a movement for You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

I live in Kano, one of the oldest cities in northern Nigeria, where the desert winds carry both dust and history. Once the seat of a powerful Hausa kingdom, our city remains a cultural and religious center — proud, resilient, and alive with tradition. Nigeria itself is a land of vast contrast — from the humid forests of the south to the arid plains of the north — and our people are its greatest treasure. More than 250 ethnic groups and hundreds of languages fill this nation with beauty and complexity.
Yet, despite our wealth of culture and resources, life here is often marked by hardship. In the north, followers of Jesuslive under constant threat from Boko Haram and other extremist groups. Villages are attacked, churches burned, and believers driven from their homes. Many live in fear but refuse to let fear define them. Across the nation, poverty, food shortages, and malnutrition weigh heavily, especially on our children.
Here in Kano, the Hausa people — the largest unreached tribe in Africa — fill the markets, schools, and mosques. They are deeply spiritual, faithful in prayer, and bound by tradition. Yet I believe that God sees them with compassion and has not forgotten this land. Even in the shadow of violence and drought, the Church is rising — feeding the hungry, caring for the abandoned, and sharing the hope of Christ with love and courage. In the face of systemic collapse, this is our moment — to reveal the Kingdom of God through words, works, and wonders, and to see His light pierce the darkest places.
Use these resources to help pray specifically each day.
