Shepherd of our souls, we bring You the needs of “Samuel” and the church planting teams that he leads in Vientiane, Laos. Thank You for ministering to him today and laying Your life down for him. We ask that he would see You as the Good Shepherd and live to shepherd others into Your Kingdom.
In John 10:14–15, Jesus, You said that You are the Good Shepherd and that You lay down Your life for the sheep. As You comfort “Samuel” today with this truth, we ask that You would also impart to him the heart of a shepherd, and that he would lay down his life for his leaders, that they would multiply Your Kingdom for You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

I live here in Laos, a quiet land of mountains, rivers, and rice fields. Our country is small and landlocked, yet full of life — from the forested highlands to the green plains where families work together to grow rice, our daily rhythm is shaped by the land and the seasons. In Vientiane, where the Mekong flows wide and slow, I often see the contrast between modern life and the deep traditions that still hold our people’s hearts.
Most of my neighbors are Buddhist, and many still follow the old spiritual rituals passed down through generations. Temples stand tall, and the sound of chanting fills the air in the mornings. Yet, even in the midst of this, I see a quiet longing — a hunger for peace, for truth, for a love that does not fade. I know that longing well, because it led me to Jesus.
Following Him here is not easy. Our gatherings must be small and hidden. We cannot sing loudly, and sometimes we whisper our prayers. The government watches carefully, and many view our faith as a betrayal of our culture. Some of my friends have been questioned, and others have lost their homes or families because they chose to follow Christ. Still, we do not lose heart. When we meet, even in secret, His presence fills the room with joy that no fear can take away.
I believe this is the hour for the Gospel to spread across Laos — through every mountain path, every hidden valley, and among every one of the 96 unreached tribes still waiting to hear His name. We pray for boldness, for open doors, and for the love of Jesus to reach every heart in this land. One day, I believe Laos will be known not only for its beauty and culture, but for being a place where the light of Christ shines brightly in every village.
Use these resources to help pray specifically each day.
