August 1-15, We’re focusing six days on each of the five megacities of influence—Jerusalem, Mekkah, Tehran, Varanasi, and Beijing—with an emphasis on House of Prayer intercession.

Field Team Daily Prayer Request:

King of Salvation, we enter Your presence today on behalf of our brother “Amir” and his network of prayer warriors in their underground house of prayer in the Mekkah Region. Give Amir and his team the strength to pray night and day for the salvation of family, friends, and neighbors who have never heard of Jesus. Amir has put himself in the place of so many as an intercessor. Hear their prayers today and send a fresh outpouring of Your Spirit over the land. 

Like Moses in Exodus 32:32, we hear “Amir” and his teams in desperate prayer, crying out, “Forgive their sin, but if not, I pray, blot me out of your book.” Hear us, O Lord, and break the bonds of evil so that the refreshment of Your grace will pour over everyone in this city. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

City of the Day: OUAGADOUGOU, Burkina Faso

Burkina Faso is a landlocked country in western Africa. A former French colony, the name Burkina Faso means “Land of Incorruptible People.” About nine-tenths of the population is engaged in subsistence agriculture or livestock raising. Difficult economic conditions, made worse by severe intermittent droughts, have provoked considerable migration from rural to urban areas within Burkina Faso and neighboring countries. Furthermore, Burkina Faso is located in a region where Islamist groups have a vast and growing influence.

The central government is fragile, particularly in the east of the country, where Islamic law is informally implemented by Jihadi groups that have gained control. On January 23rd, 2022, Burkina Faso’s army announced on state television that it had ousted President Kabore, suspended the constitution, dissolved the government, and closed its borders. The announcement described Kabore’s inability to unite the West African nation and effectively respond to critical challenges, including the Islamist insurgency.

Now is the time to stand for Burkina Faso and pray for the church in the country to stand firm and cling fast to the imperishable, undefiled, and unfading inheritance waiting for the “Incorruptible ones” in heaven. Ouagadougou, pronounced wa-ga-du-gu, is the capital and largest town of Burkina Faso.
