Field Team Daily Prayer Request:
Let’s pray today for Samir as he leads a leadership training ministry in Mosul, Iraq, that equips and sends workers to multiply house churches across the region.
We wrote a song just for today’s prayer. Listen and pray with us: onemiraclenight.com/songs#YouAreSaving
Father, according to Acts 2, establish these gatherings in the spirit of the early church. Let believers meet in homes with glad and sincere hearts, forming communities marked by worship, shared life, and genuine care.
Strengthen Samir as he trains leaders. Give him wisdom to develop workers who are humble, faithful, and courageous. Let his investment multiply as each leader raises up others, creating steady and healthy growth. Unite the house churches in purpose and love, guarding them from division or isolation, and deepen trust as they pray, share meals, and carry one another’s burdens.
Grant boldness as they live out their faith in neighborhoods and families. Let their lives reflect quiet confidence and integrity that draws others to seek truth. Give these gatherings favor within their communities. Reduce suspicion, open relational doors, and add to their number those ready to believe.
Establish strong foundations so these house churches grow and endure for years to come. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
I live in Mashhad, one of the holiest cities in the Muslim world. Every year millions of pilgrims travel here to visit the shrine of Imam Reza, whose golden dome shines over the city and can be seen from far across the skyline. The streets around the shrine are always full — pilgrims praying, families walking together, shopkeepers selling prayer beads and saffron. Faith is woven into every corner of daily life here.
Mashhad sits in northeastern Iran, not far from the borders of Afghanistan and Turkmenistan. The city has grown rapidly over the years, becoming one of the largest in the country and an important center of religious learning and political influence. But like many cities in Iran, Mashhad has also experienced tension and unrest. Protests over economic hardship and political frustration have appeared here in recent years, often centered around markets and universities.
The wider war surrounding Iran has added another layer of uncertainty. Air defenses and military activity have increased across the country, and people watch the news closely, unsure what the coming days may bring. In a city where religion and politics are closely intertwined, the atmosphere can feel heavy with expectation and pressure.
Yet life continues. Pilgrims still arrive, markets open each morning, and families gather in courtyards and parks in the evening. Beneath the rituals and traditions, many hearts quietly search for peace and truth.
For followers of Jesus in Mashhad, faith must often remain hidden. Small groups meet quietly in homes, encouraging one another and praying for their city. Even in a place so deeply rooted in religious tradition, I believe God is moving. The same city known for pilgrimage may one day become a place where many discover the true Savior and the peace that only He can give.
Use these resources to help pray specifically each day.
