However, since World War II, the United Kingdom’s most prominent exports have been cultural, including literature, theatre, film, television, and popular music. Perhaps the UK’s greatest export has been the English language, now spoken in every corner of the world. London is the capital of the United Kingdom. It is among the oldest of the world’s great cities. By far the UK’s largest metropolis, it is also the country’s economic, transportation, and cultural center. |
