Myanmar, also called Burma, is a country located in western Southeast Asia. Myanmar is the northernmost country in the region and is a country of great ethnic diversity. The Burmans, who form the largest group, make up more than half of the population.

Numerous small ethnic groups, most of which inhabit the upland regions, account for roughly one-fifth of Myanmar’s population. Despite hosting great diversity, hundreds of thousands of Rohingya Muslims, an ethnic minority group, have fled Myanmar since a military genocide began in 2017.

The central government killed more than 6,000 people in the first month of the onslaught and has continued to enforce widespread and systematic extermination. Yangon, the capital and largest city of Myanmar, is a strategic hub for the Church to advance and usher in the justice of the Lord

The tiny Shan Church needs more leadership and the opportunity to train their leaders within Myanmar. The Bible is available in the Shan language, as are the Jesus film and Christian radio broadcasts.
Prayer Points

Ask God to strengthen, encourage, and protect Shan Christians.
Ask the Holy Spirit to complete the work of adequate discipleship begun in the hearts of the Burmese Shan.
Pray for the effectiveness of the Jesus film among the Burmese Shan.
Pray that God will raise up prayer teams to break up the soil through worship and intercession.
Ask God to grant wisdom and favor to missions agencies focusing on the Burmese Shan.
Pray for opportunities to train Shan leaders within their country.
Ask God to anoint the Gospel as it goes forth via radio to the Burmese Shan.
Ask the Lord to raise up strong local Christian fellowships among the Burmese Shan.

Pray for a mighty movement of prayer to be birthed in Yangon that multiplies throughout the country.

Pray for followers of Jesus to walk in the power of the Spirit.
